The concept
Three things keep people ashore: the cost, the upkeep, the berth.
The Yagga 25 is built to remove those three obstacles.
Until now you had to choose: a big boat to live aboard six, or a small multihull to slip into harbour.
The Yagga 25 refuses to choose.
7.65 m long, 0.80 m draught, 4.55 m beam. You come into harbour, you slip in, they find you a berth. Handling stays simple: two of you are enough, with no crew and no logistics.
You cook standing up, 1.90 m headroom. Whoever is cooking stays with everyone else. Six sleep aboard as a family, without moving a cushion. And storage for everything you bring aboard.
Sail version or power version, fixed or modular layout. The boat follows the way you use it.
Life on board
No need for a crew of four. Your partner, your children, your friends: there is room for everyone. You cook standing up, the saloon seats six.
And there is still room for the gear: the boards, the kitesurf, the wing, the diving kit. You load up, you head for wherever the wind is good, you sleep there.
Saturday morning, course set for the islands. The Yagga 25 eats up the miles, steady and quiet. Sunday evening, you come back into harbour already wanting to leave again.
Not a poster. Real life, an ordinary weekend.
The versions
Same hulls, same interior layout, same comfort. Depending on how you use it, the Yagga 25 takes a different form.
A simple, seaworthy cruising catamaran. 33 m² upwind (23 m² main + 10 m² jib), 35 m² gennaker. Transom-hung rudders, fixed skegs. Petrol outboard, electric or diesel inboard depending on the version. A sail-area-to-weight ratio designed for real sailing.
A compact powercat on the same platform. Outdoor saloon, helm station, the sea without the sails. You start with an open version. You add a T-top. You close the wheelhouse with a windscreen. The deck is equipped to suit.
Specifications
Six permanent berths, a saloon that stays a saloon, a galley you can stand up in, a heads with shower — in 7.65 metres.

The project
The Yagga 25 is developed by Van Cat, the company Julien Mabit set up to carry the range.
Project owner
A former professional racing sailor, third in the 2010 Route du Rhum. His finest time at sea, though, was not that one: it was a passage home from Hoëdic with his family. Founder of a sailing school in Pornichet. The Yagga 25 came out of the way he actually uses a boat, not out of market research.
Naval architecture
Gildas Plessis, Yannick Eudeline and Raphaël Gillet. A naval architecture practice in Lorient, specialising in multihulls. A rational, proven and production-ready approach.
Boatyard
Composite construction. The Yagga 25 will be shown on the Kaori Concept stand at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle, in September 2026.
